Who We Are:

Thunderbolt Utility Contractors, Inc. (Thunderbolt) was formed in 1997 by Philip and Lisa Segerson following the transition out of the partnership Thunderbolt Cable Contractors. With sights on expansion from cable placement with limited excavation work into cable, fiber, telephone and other utility placement through excavation, aerial, and directional boring, Phil and Lisa launched the incorporated business using personal capital and small business financing. With a small loyal workforce and a lot of determination, Thunderbolt has endured many years of Texas economic changes including the 2009-2010 building and construction recession. As family owned, Phil and Lisa's three daughters have grown up in the business, spending many hours at the business office filing and cleaning, and as young adults now they remain interested in Thunderbolt's continued success.

Philip Segerson, President

Phil brings to the business over 30 years of experience in cable and telecommunication technology. As President, he promotes strong work ethic, high quality work, and integrity among Thunderbolt employees. He has developed a base of good customers who depend on Thunderbolt's quality work and Phil's honesty in all aspects of contracting. While responsible for all bidding and estimating, customer relationships, safety, and work design, Phil is also often on each work site, side by side with employees working to complete the job as committed.  

Lisa Segerson, Vice President

As a CPA, Lisa brings business acumen to the corporation, and is responsible for accounting, human resources, information technology, and insurance administration activities. Since Thunderbolt's incorporation, Lisa has worked alongside Phil to negotiate expansion. Navigating her own career, Lisa spent approximately 8 years dedicated to Thunderbolt just prior to the 2009-2010 construction recession; since that time her Thunderbolt commitment fills nights and weekends keeping the business office and all its requirements running. 

Cassie Segerson, media Specialist

While attending Denver Seminary, Cassie plays a part-time role as the Thunderbolt media specialist. She is responsible for website design and content and promoting Thunderbolt through social media.
